The US Coalition is Building up Forces in Iraq to Invade Syria

The Insane Push Towards WWIII in Syria by the US and its allies

The United States has stepped up their plans to remove the Assad government by calling for its allies to assemble a joint military force in Iraq. However, as most of us know, the primary purpose of this coalition is to remove the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government from power in Syria.

Pentagon demands more from action anti-ISIS coalition allies

Source: Russia Today

The US is insisting that their gulf state allies join the US war coalition to fight ISIS / ISIL / Daesh in Iraq and Syria. It is not a request nor is it going to be unanswered, as the main culprits in calling for the downfall of Bashar – al-Assad such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE are all going to put their hired mercenaries together with Turkey’s armed forces and a small fraction of European nations with air power and support via France, Germany and the UK.

Breaking News

According to Iraqi opposition MP Hanan Fatlawi, the head of the opposition Irada Movement:

“A hundred thousand foreign troops, including 90,000 from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar and Jordan, and 10,000 troops from America will be deployed in western regions of Iraq,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

The Iraqi MP said that the US plan was announced to the Iraqi government, during a recent visit by US Senator John McCain on November 27, 2015. McCain told Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi, senior cabinet ministers and Iraqi military officials that the decision was “non-negotiable”. Hanan Fatlawi added that the Iraqi prime minister protested the plan, but was told that, “the decision has already been taken.” (Taken by whom?)

Indeed, this is very important information...and sheds more light on why Turkey invaded Northern Iraq and refuses to leave...you can be absolutely sure that Turkish government officials oil deals with ISIS certainly has something to do with it as well.

But what is really disturbing if not already alarming, is the fact that Turkey’s invasion of a sovereign state is supported by the US Government; which further proves their hypocrisy and mockery of International law.

International Law?

One moment the US says Turkey had a right to protect its airspace from intrusion and the next moment it says Iraq does not have a right to protect itself from invasion by NATO member Turkey. (Dmitry Babich sums it up perfectly here.)

This fact alone should tell everyone that the US has lost its common sense and is in the hands of madmen…madmen like Lindsey Graham, John McCain, and everyone connected to the US Foreign Policy who are itching to go to war with Russia...and Iran…

Iraqi PM demands 48-hr deadline be met as Turkey refuses to withdraw

The US Government also makes clear that Iraq is occupied by the US Military, serving notice to the Iraqi government that they will do as they are told or else…This arrogant attitude by US sociopaths is all too common now and the norm that one would attribute to a belligerent Fascist Dictatorship...Occupation brings out the sociopaths attitudes and actions as we saw by the results of their War Crime of invading and destroying Iraq in 2003.

Shock and Awe (Part 2 of 2)

The ball is in Iraq’s court now. The question on everyone’s mind is, “Will the Iraqi government officially invite Russia into Iraq to help remove the terrorist threats?” Not so long ago the Iraqi government allowed Russia to fly cruise missiles from the Caspian Sea over their country to hit targets in Syria…it’s safe to say that there are billions of people around the world and millions inside Iraq, hoping that Iraq government invites the Russians in to help them remove the chains of American Occupation.

However, if an invite doesn’t go out to the Russians by the Iraqi government, then we can surmise that the American’s threatened the Iraqi government as John McCain’s reply seems to indicate…

US Coalition Troops from Middle East Countries?

Of special note in the bombshell notice by Iraqi opposition MP Hanan Fatlawi is the reference to troops from the Middle East countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar and Jordan, who contract mercenaries to fight for them from firms such as Blackwater / Xe Services / Academii / Dyne Corp, etc. Could these be the 70,000 strong Syrian Free Army David Cameron was talking about?

SNP: Of 70,000 how many moderates, how many fundamentalists?

Source: Russia Today

The US is putting together a mercenary army recruited by various spy agencies tied to western nations and trained by Blackwater, Xe Services, Academi etc. They are funded and employed by the Gulf State monarchy’s and are used to destabilize other Middle Eastern governments in countries such as Syria and Yemen.

Another commander of the UAE Blackwater mercenaries killed in Yemen

Source: South Front

Once again, foreign mercenaries connected to Blackwater / Xe Services / Academi are caught dead handed causing mayhem and destruction for western corporate interests in the Middle East. In this case, the terrorist corporation was contracted by the Saudi’s, and caught in Yemen.

The New York Times reported on November 25 that the UAE has"secretly" deployed 450 Latin American troops, mostly from Colombia, but also from Panama, El Salvador and Chile, to fight in the war on Yemen.

Yemeni sources also say that the Colombians fighting in Yemen are part of a larger battalion who have been training in the UAE deserts over the past five years.

Of course, Saudi Arabia is currently leading a coalition of forces from Egypt, Sudan, Colombia and private contractors against the Yemeni army and Ansarullah movement.

How Much More Proof Do We Need?

The significance of this unfolding story is massive, as it not only, once again, points the finger at the US and its partners for organized terrorism around the World but it implicates them beyond a shadow of a doubt…which is something many of us have been saying since Blackwater was first exposed for their crimes in Iraq back in...2007

Blackwater / Xe Services / Academi are just a few of the major organizations behind recruiting, training, and equipping the terrorists throughout the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa over the years…there is also a new one that Erik Prince, the founder of Blackwater now heads called “Frontier Services Group” although it operates in Africa and is tied to both Western and Chinese Interests.

Also connected in this coalition of deceit are the Israeli, Saudi and various European secret service agencies for logistics in their own spheres as branch, support, or contributing departments to the overall goals of destabilization of Independent nations such as Syria, Yemen, Iran, Iraq and Russia.

Organizations like Blackwater / Xe Services / Academi, are mercenary corporations and covert military organizations that are deeply imbedded with weapons manufacturers, OECD secret services, Investment Banks and the US Pentagon…They operate much the same way a corporation does only they are military specialists and technicians who train terrorists and mercenary armies…

How hard can it be to recruit people, when you have an endless supply of money and equipment? Untrained terrorists could not operate sophisticated military equipment without specific instruction on how to assemble and operate weapons such as those US TOW missile launchers

The tools used by the US and their allies to covertly attack target nations are groups like Blackwater / Xe Services / Academi who should be labelled more correctly as organized terrorism…

Here is the connection to the terrorist armies called ISIS / ISIL / Daesh, or whatever name they choose to be called today…simply put, the terrorists in Syria and Iraq are operated by the same mercenary groups that the former Bush government unleashed on Iraq since 2003. They are funded by regimes such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar. Their weapons are provided by the western countries, but mainly by the US military Industrial corporations owned by financial oligarchs who direct these companies by the weight of their majority stock shares. They are a crime syndicate that deals in smuggling oil, drugs, weapons, and pillaged historical artefacts and also drive a slave trade. They are the most ruthless and barbaric people on the planet next to their sociopathic enablers.

There’s a War Coming…

There was an article written in 2007 by JP Briggs II, Ph.D., and Thomas D. Williams for Truthout June 29th, 2007 called “Bush, Mideast Wars & End-Time Prophecy” that goes into great detail about how US foreign policy become dangerously steeped in ideas of Armageddon, the Apocalypse, an imminent war with Satanic forces in the Middle East, and an urgency to construct an American theocracy to fulfill God's end-of-days plan.

Featured prominently in this western doomsday Geo-politicult are some of the main characters that would like to see Iran and Syria destroyed. (IE: AIPAC, John Hagee, Franklin Graham, The Apostolic Congress, Kenneth Blackwell, Gen. William Boykin, Christian Embassy, James Dobson, Benny Hinn, Tim LaHaye, Rod Parsley, Erik Prince, among many others)

Included in these prominent End Time Christian groups and individuals was none other than “Erik Prince” the creator of “Blackwater” who was recently interviewed by Asia Times on Sept 25, 2015 on how to defeat Islamic State…and not surprisingly his answer comes in the guise of a twisted end times prophesy…

Recently, “Blackwater” now under UAE management, was in the news again as a number of their international recruits were killed in clashes with Houthi Ansarullah fighters and allied forces in Yemen’s southwestern Ta’izz Province bringing the total number of Blackwater forces killed in the past few days to 14.

This is the same private security firm that was exposed from leaked Stratfor emails to be helping fellow terrorists overthrow the Bashar al-Assad government in 2012…The same firm which also operated extensively in Libya…

Of course, Security groups including Blackwater were also involved in training terrorists in Turkey’s border region with Syria to fight the Syrian Army.

It looks like the US and its allies have created a World War III theatre based on the End Times Prophesies with a real manufactured terrorist army recruited, programmed, trained, and armed by the US, their allies and private security firms…and they are directing it at the western TV audience in all its blood curdling horror to justify the war they are waging on Syria, and planning on Iran…

However, Russia has stolen their thunder and seems to have spoiled their plans. In fact, the panic state we now see the US and its Gulf State partners in, is the direct result of Russia shining light in dark places…places like the Turkey / ISIS oil trade in the Azaz district of Aleppo, Northern Syria. A place that Erik Prince conveyed to Asia times was where the US should concentrate their war plans…of course, his plan was mentioned before Russia began its attack on terrorism in Syria.

Sobering Reality

The US and its Gulf State allies are building up a terrorist mercenary force to overthrow the elected Syrian government and its President, Bashar al-Assad while they are also engaged in destroying the Syrian infrastructure…they are taking direct action to back up their statement…

Saudi FM: Riyadh to continue supporting militants in Syria unless Assad steps down

Source: Press TV

Russia is smack in the middle of this rapidly escalating build up to a Syrian invasion by the US Coalition and NATO allies, which includes Turkey…who the US has stressed they will back with article 5 of the NATO treaty.

Russia has no choice but to hold its ground, because a loss in Syria will bring the US sponsored terrorists right to their own borders, and that is precisely what the US government wants. So when Vladimir Putin discusses in front of news cameras, the accuracy and ability of their cruise missiles, that they could be armed with Nuclear weapons, he is not bluffing. He's being up front by letting everyone know, that what the US government is planning, will lead to catastrophic events.

Vladimir Putin states that Nuclear weapons would never be needed to fight terrorism and he hopes they never have to use them against terrorists…it is my considered opinion that Vladimir Putin is telling the west, in no uncertain words, that if you decide to go down that road, and unleash your full power using a terrorist army against us, then Russia will take the appropriate actions to deal with the threat.

Hopefully, no nukes will be needed’ against ISIS – Putin

Source: Russia Today

Russia will defend itself if the west and its allies use this mercenary terrorist coalition against them…and they will defend with whatever means necessary to protect themselves, so the US coalition better be very careful in what their next steps will be…because the ramp up of 100,000 mercenary troops looks more like anInsane Push Towards WWIII by the US and its allies…it would have been much better for everyone, if the US joined the legal Russian coalition in Syria...

Any threats to Russian military in Syria will be destroyed - Putin

Syria - The Crime and the Criminals

The Syrian civil war, insurrection, rebellion, revolt, uprising, call it what you will, was not home grown in Syria by Syrians with differing outlooks as to how their nation should be governed—as the mainstream media would have you believe—it was part of a strategy preplanned by vicious, sociopathic foreigners called "Neocons" and they began their planning in 1991, following the first invasion of Iraq, code-named: Dessert Storm. To date, the major beneficiary of their diabolical planning has been Zionist Apartheid Israel, but that maybe coming to an end.

US pressuring Russia into passing UN resolution on Syria under Chapter 7 - Lavrov

Video Source: Russia Today YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4bs0DswnVA

Story Source: Russia Today Online
http://rt.com/news/us-russia-syria-resolution-pressure-202/

The US is pushing Russia into approving a UN resolution that would allow for military intervention in Syria, in exchange for American support of Syria’s accession to OPCW, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

“Our American partners are starting to blackmail us: ‘If Russia does not support a resolution under Chapter 7, then we will withdraw our support for Syria’s entry into the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). This is a complete departure from what I agreed with Secretary of State John Kerry',” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told Channel 1's Sunday Time program.

Chapter 7 of the UN charter would allow for potential military intervention in Syria.

Western countries blinded by 'Assad must go' attitude

The head of Russia’s Foreign Ministry went on to say he was surprised by the West’s “negligent” approach to the conflict.

“Our partners are blinded by an ideological mission for regime change,” said Lavrov. “They cannot admit they have made another mistake.”

Slamming the West’s intervention in Libya and Iraq, the foreign minister stated that military intervention could only lead to a catastrophe in the region. Moreover, he stressed that if the West really was interested in a peaceful solution to the conflict that has raged for over two years, they would now be pushing for Syria’s entry into the OPCW in the first place, not for the ouster of President Bashar Assad.

“I am convinced that the West is doing this to demonstrate that they call the shots in the Middle East. This is a totally politicized approach,” said Lavrov.

The Russian foreign minister pointed out that in the case of a military scenario, militants would come to power and Syria would no longer be a secular state. Up to three quarters “of these guys are Jihadists,” including the most radical groups such as Al-Nusra Front and the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant, who want to create an Islamic Caliphate in Syria and in neighboring territories, Lavrov said.

“If our western partners think at least two steps ahead, they cannot but understand it,” Lavrov noted.

As to why the West would want that, Moscow has so far received no clear answer, but hears “mantras” on the necessity to promote democracy and protect human rights, said the minister. That is important, but “responsible politicians should be guided not only by that. Not to care about stability in a key world region is absolutely irresponsible,” he added.

According to Lavrov, some experts alleged that “someone is attempting to create a guided chaos” in the region for their own benefits. However, the foreign minister said he personally sees no possible advantages that Western countries would gain if they were behind moves to stir up instability.

“There’s only an attempt to grasp a straw, and turn a blind eye to the fact that the world is changing and becoming multipolar,” Lavrov concluded.

'A repeat of Geneva 2012'

Lavrov harked back to last year’s Geneva accord which was agreed upon by the international community, including Russia and the US. However, when the resolution went to the Security Council the US demanded that Chapter 7 be included.

“History is repeating itself. Once again in Geneva an agreement has been reached which does not contain any mention of Chapter 7. But the Security Council wants to redo the document in their own way to include it.”

He called on the West to observe international law and stop writing resolutions motivated by their “geopolitical ambitions.”

Both sides must hand over chemical weapons’

Sergey Lavrov has also insisted that opposition forces take part in the decommissioning of Syria’s chemical weapons stockpiles.

“The solutions currently being worked out at the OPCW suggest that all stocks of Syrian chemical weapons must be brought under control and ultimately destroyed.”

Lavrov further charged that the West was “not telling the whole story” by asserting that chemical weapons are only possessed by the regime, and not the opposition.

He added that the available information provided by the Israelis confirmed that on at least two occasions, the rebels had seized areas in which chemical weapons were stored and those arms might have fallen into their hands.

"According to our estimates, there is a strong probability that in addition to home-grown labs in which militants are trying to cook up harmful and deadly concoctions, the data provided by the Israelis is true,” the Russian FM said.

“Preparatory work for OPCW inspectors to assume control of chemical weapons storage sites requires that those who fund and sponsor opposition groups – including extremists – demand that they hand over the [arms] which have been seized so that they can be destroyed, pursuant to the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.”

Lavrov added that Russia was not a guarantor for the disarmament of Syria’s chemical weapons, as Syria’s commitments fell under the auspices of the Chemical Weapons Convention, which is internationally administered by the OPCW.

Lavrov said Russia and the US were working out a draft resolution to be submitted to the OPCW, although several points were yet to be agreed upon.

Earlier in September, Moscow said it would submit data to the UNSC proving that the chemical weapons in a Damascus suburb were used by the rebels. These “purely technical” documents were handed over to Russia by the Bashar Assad government and are being examined by Russian specialists. This data “is an addition to what we already know and to what is known to…independent experts who give their assessments and confirm that the opposition regularly resort to provocations, attempting to accuse the regime of using chemical weapons” and this way get foreign military support, Lavrov said.

A UN experts team, who investigated the August 21 attack in Syria, presented a report on their findings, in which they described the ammunition and substances they discovered on the scene, but made no conclusions regarding who was behind the incident.

However, the US, along with Britain and France, moved quickly to repeat their accusations against the Syrian government. “Such an approach is neither scientific, nor professional but rather politicized and ideology-driven,” the Russian foreign minister stressed.

According to Lavrov, it was no secret that they did not need any report. Long before the document was prepared, they stated that they already knew everything from their intelligence findings – which have never been presented to the public in full, the Russian minister noted.

“What they did show to us does not convince that the [Syrian] regime is linked to the episode with the use of chemical weapons,” Lavrov said.

He reiterated that there is also evidence by eyewitnesses, including nuns from the Christian monastery close to the scene of the deadly attack, and journalists who visited the area. Reporters, Lavrov said, talked to militants who told them that they “received from abroad munitions that they had never seen before and did not know how to use them, but they used them in the end.” There was also an open letter by the Pentagon and CIA veterans to President Obama, where they say that the rebels could have used chemical weapons.

Moscow expects the UN experts to go back to Syria to finish their investigation there, which should include three other incidents - on August 22, 24 and 25 – when the Syrian army was attacked with poisonous gas, Lavrov said.

Logistics of destruction

Sergey Lavrov said that the time frame for the elimination of Syria’s chemical weapons was not unrealistic.

"The overwhelming majority of the figures as per timing, term, beginning, finishing of the mission have been suggested by the American side," he added.

Even if the time frame is feasible, there remains disagreement on the cost of the venture.

Earlier this week, President Assad said the destruction of Syria’s chemical weapons arsenal would be a costly venture.

“It needs a lot of money, it needs about one billion [US dollars]. It’s very detrimental to the environment. If the American administration is ready to pay the money, and to take responsibility of bringing toxic materials to the United States, why don’t they do it?” Assad told Fox News

Lavrov said he had heard of the cost estimate, although during his negotiations with his US counterpart in Geneva last week, the figure was much lower. Lavrov said the discrepancy stemmed from the fact that a professional estimate was in order.

“When OPCW experts visit Syria and view the storage sites for chemical weapons, they will understand what can be destroyed on the spot (and this is also possible) with the use of mobile equipment which a number of states have, and those where special factories need to be built, as we did when destroying Soviet chemical weapons stockpiles. But for those which need to be taken out of the country – toxic substances – will require a special decision, because the convention considers it essential that the destruction takes place on the territory of that country which possesses the chemical weapons,” he said.

Lavrov said legal grounds would need to be found to move forward in this case, but if all sides could agree in principle, then drawing up a legally binding document will not be hard.

He further noted the difficulties that would be faced in assuring the security of both the Syrian and international experts tasked with bringing the chemical weapons under control and laying the groundwork for their ultimate destruction.

“We’ve considered that an international presence will be demanded in those areas where experts are working. We are prepared to allocate our own servicemen or military police to take part in those efforts. I do not believe it is necessary to send in a strong [military] contingency.] It seems to me that it will be sufficient to send in military observers. It will be necessary to do it in such a way that the observers will come from all permanent members of the UN Security Council, Arab states and Turkey, so that all conflicting sides in Syria understand that this contingent represents all external forces who are collaborating with one or the other conflicting sides in Syria…so that they don’t resort to provocations,” he said.

Lavrov reiterated previous statements made during his negotiations with Secretary of State John Kerry following their talks in Geneva last week that the opposition was equally responsible for providing for the safety of OPCW and UN experts in the country and not allowing for any “provocations.”

Syria welcomes Russia’s offer to put its chemical weapons under intl control

Damascus welcomes Russia’s call to hand control over its chemical weapons to the international community, the Syrian Foreign Minister said responding to Sergey Lavrov's statement after the two met in the Russian capital.

“Syrian Arab Republic welcomes Russia’s initiative, based on the Syrian’s government care about the lives of our people and security of our country,” Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem said in response to the statement by his Russian counterpart.

“We are calling on the Syrian authorities not only agree on putting chemical weapons storages under international control, but also for its further destruction and then joining the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons,”Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said earlier.

The UN chief has called for measures to provide for the safe storage and destruction of the Syrian chemical weapons arsenal.

“I am sure that the international community will take quick measures to make sure that these chemical weapons reserves are stored in a safe place and are to be destroyed,” Ban Ki-moon said.

Britain has responded to the Russia-Syria dialogue, saying that the chemical weapons handover idea for Syria must not be used as a “distraction tactic”.

"If Syria were to put its chemical weapons beyond use under international supervision clearly that would be a big step forward," Cameron told parliament. "We have to be careful though to make sure this is not a distraction tactic to discuss something else rather than the problem on the table."

David Cameron also stressed that the Syrian conflict can only be solved with “political methods”.

Cameron said that the only way to put an end to the conflict in Syria is to work out a peaceful political decision, adding that through it Syria will come to stability and democracy

Syrian rebels plan chemical attack on Israel from Assad-controlled territories – RT Sources

Updated: 2013 Sept 9, 3:15 PM EST

Video Source: Russia Today
Story Source: Russia Today
http://rt.com/news/syria-rebels-chemical-attack-israel-618/

A chemical attack may be launched on Israel by Syrian rebels from government-controlled territories as a "major provocation", a number of sources have told RT.

The news comes as Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov proposed that Syria puts its chemical weapons arsenal under international control for subsequent destruction in order to prevent a possible military strike against the war-torn republic.

Moscow also urged the Syrian authorities to join the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. The offer has already been passed over to the Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem, who met Lavrov in Moscow for talks on Monday.

We don’t know if Syria will accept the offer, but if imposing international control over chemical weapons stored in the country can help to avoid military strikes, we are immediately going to start working with Damascus,” Lavrov said.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry has welcomed Moscow’s initiative, “based on the Syrian’s government care about the lives of our people and security of our country,” Muallem said later on Monday.

Shortly after RT’s report, US National Security Adviser Susan Rice also spoke about the possible threat to Israel from the Syrian territory. “The use of chemical weapons also directly threatens our closest ally in the region, Israel,” she said speaking at the New America Foundation in Washington.

A few hours earlier, US Secretary of State John Kerry said that to avoid a military operation Syrian President Bashar Assad has a week to surrender control of “every single bit” of his stock of chemical weapons to the international community. “But he isn't about to do it and it can't be done,” he added, speaking at a media conference in London, as he was wrapping up his European tour in a move to win support for the Obama-proposed “limited” strike against Syria.

The US Administration has blamed the Syrian government for the alleged chemical weapons use in the Damascus suburbs on August 21. Washington has maintained it has the intelligence to prove it, but has so far refused to make public a single piece of concrete evidence that would link the Assad regime to the deadly incident.

On Sunday, the Senate Select Intelligence Committee released a series of 13 videos showing what is purported to be proof of the use of chemical weapons in Syria. The disturbing images of the victims of the alleged attack were earlier shown during a closed-door briefing to a group of senators, as Obama is trying to get authorization from Congress for the military strike on Syria. The administration told senators that the authenticity of the videos was verified by the intelligence community, reported CNN, which first aired the graphic material.

The videos depict scenes of convulsing children, men vomiting and struggling to breathe and, also what appeared to be dozens of dead bodies wrapped up in white sheets, lying side by side. But they still do not provide an answer to the question of who was behind the attack. The Syrian government and the opposition forces point the finger of blame at each other.

It also remains unclear as to why exactly President Assad would order a chemical attack at a time when a group of UN experts were carrying out an investigation in the country.

There is proof the footage of the alleged chemical attack in Syria was fabricated, Mother Agnes Mariam el-Salib, mother superior of the St. James Monastery in Qara, Syria, told RT. She added that she plans to submit her findings to the UN.

Putin stands up to G8 warmongers on Syria, reaffirming support for Assad govt

Source: Press TV
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/309760.html

Russian President Vladimir Putin can take credit for standing up to the G8 warmongers on Syria. Thanks to the feisty Russian leader’s political courage, an all-out war in Syria may have been averted - at least for now.

Only days ago, Western media were touting that Putin would be given a political drubbing at the G8 summit in Northern Ireland this week by the US, Britain and France - the three main NATO powers pushing for regime change in Syria.

The arrogance and spite awaiting Putin was summed up by Washington’s Canadian puppet prime minister, Stephen Harper, when he accused, through media channels, the Russian president of supporting “thugs in Syria”.

Harper said: “I don't think we should fool ourselves. This is G7 plus one. We in the West have a very different perspective on this situation. Mr Putin and his government are supporting the thugs of the Assad regime.”

When the conference opened, Putin didn’t waste time on a minion like Harper. He had bigger fish to fry. During the summit, Putin told Obama, Cameron and Hollande face-to-face that Russia was standing firm in its support for the government of President Bashar al Assad in Damascus. He warned that any plans by the Western powers to openly supply weapons to anti-government militants in Syria was against international law and would destabilize the region; and Putin refused to revoke a deal by Russia to deliver anti-aircraft defence missiles to Syria, pointing out that the transaction was a legal bilateral agreement between sovereign countries.

In one fell swoop, Putin used the auspices of the annual G8 forum to debunk Western lies and propaganda on Syria and to reiterate the facts of international relations, namely, that Syria is a sovereign country with a sovereign government.

Earlier, British Prime Minister David Cameron, who hosted the two-day summit in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, was betting along with US President Barack Obama and French President Francois Hollande that the G8 meeting would cause Putin to wilt under their combined pressure.

Far from wilting, the Russian leader stood his ground and ended up tying his pusillanimous adversaries up in knots. Putin showed the courage of conviction; the others had the courage of conmen.

Last week, the Americans, British and French tried to pile the pressure on Putin with lurid claims that the Syrian government had used chemical weapons of mass destruction. Those claims were of course bogus, but they were aimed at creating a red line pretext for the NATO powers to openly begin sending weapons to their proxy mercenaries fighting in Syria to bring down Assad.

Washington duly followed last week with official approval for supplying weapons, at least in principle, just as the British and French had done in preceding weeks. The gang of three also mulled the setting up of “no-fly zones” on Syria’s southern flank over the border from Jordan. News that the Americans were leaving F-16 fighter jets, Osprey troop-carrying planes and Patriot missiles inside Jordan following recent war exercises may also be seen as a calculated threat of NATO intervention in Syria.

So, as the leaders of the G8 countries gathered in Northern Ireland at the start of this week, the pressure was on Putin to give ground on policy towards Russia’s ally, Syria. In particular, the objective of the US, Britain and France was to get the Russian leader to throw Syria’s Assad to the wolves.

The ousting of Assad has been the top foreign political priority of the Western regimes for more than two years. Under the cynical guise of supporting a “pro-democracy uprising”, Washington and the two former colonial powers have plunged Syria into a maelstrom of violence that has resulted in more than 90,000 deaths. The NATO brigands have in effect been holding a gun to the Syrian people’s head in a bid to enforce their criminal scheme of regime change.

Last weekend, former French Foreign Minister Roland Dumas confirmed this criminal conspiracy. Dumas told French media how British officials had briefed him on a secret plan for sabotaging Syria - more than two years before conflict in that country flared up in March 2011.

We also know from the American neocon Project for a New American Century and separate disclosures by former US NATO General Wesley Clark that Washington was working on a similar pernicious plot against Syria more than 10 years ago.

The Russians fell for the NATO charade on Libya, with the much-vaunted “no-fly zone” and “responsibility to protect” turning into a murderous blitzkrieg to topple Muammar Gaddafi.

But Moscow seems now to have rumbled NATO’s rolling plan across the Middle East. Russia knows that this regime change is predicated on permanent war that won’t stop at Syria. It is an agenda for total domination across the oil- and gas-rich region that is also targeting Moscow’s other ally, Iran, and will eventually target Russia itself.

At the G8 meeting, British Prime Minister David Cameron did his best to sound consensual. “We have overcome our fundamental differences,” he said with fake tones of fraternity. Cameron was probably still wincing from the rhetorical slap in the face he received from Putin before the G8 summit began, when the Russian leader effectively accused Britain at a press conference in Downing Street of wanting to support organ-eaters and cannibals in Syria.

The G8 summit ended this week with a vaguely stated commitment to end the violence in Syria. That commitment is not worth the paper that it is written on given the underlying criminal intent of Washington, London and Paris. But, importantly, the final G8 communiqué had the glaring omission of calling for President Assad’s ouster. Officially, at least, that American, British and French demand has been given short shrift under G8 terms.

The Western regime-change plan in Syria - already suffering major military defeats on the ground - just received another blow from President Putin who defiantly resisted NATO pressure for betrayal.

Putin stood up to the NATO bullies, showed them to be non-entities, and he drew his own red line on Syria. His courage on display in Northern Ireland this week may just be enough to avert the all-out war that the Western imperialist states have been recklessly driving towards.

Russia releases key findings on chemical attack near Aleppo indicating similarity with rebel-made weapons

Probes from Khan al-Assal show chemicals used in the March 19 attack did not belong to standard Syrian army ammunition, and that the shell carrying the substance was similar to those made by a rebel fighter group, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated.

A statement released by the ministry on Wednesday particularly drew attention to the “massive stove-piping of various information aimed at placing the responsibility for the alleged chemical weapons use in Syria on Damascus, even though the results of the UN investigation have not yet been revealed.”

By such means “the way is being paved for military action”against Damascus, the ministry pointed out.

But the samples taken at the site of the March 19 attack and analyzed by Russian experts indicate that a projectile carrying the deadly nerve agent sarin was most likely fired at Khan al-Assal by the rebels, the ministry statement suggests, outlining the 100-page report handed overto the UN by Russia.

The key points of the report have been given as follows:

• the shell used in the incident “does not belong to the standard ammunition of the Syrian army and was crudely according to type and parameters of the rocket-propelled unguided missiles manufactured in the north of Syria by the so-called Bashair al-Nasr brigade”;

• RDX, which is also known as hexogen or cyclonite, was used as the bursting charge for the shell, and it is “not used in standard chemical munitions”;

• soil and shell samples contain “the non-industrially synthesized nerve agent sarin and diisopropylfluorophosphate,” which was “used by Western states for producing chemical weapons during World War II.”

The findings of the report are “extremely specific,” as they mostly consist of scientific and technical data from probes’ analysis, the ministry stressed, adding that this data can “substantially aid” the UN investigation of the incident.

While focusing on the Khan al-Assal attack on March 19, in which at least 26 civilians and Syrian army soldiers were killed, and 86 more were injured, the Russian Foreign Ministry also criticized the “flawed selective approach”of certain states in reporting the recent incidents of alleged chemical weapons use in August.

The hype around the alleged attack on the eastern Damascus suburb of Ghoutashowed “apparent attempts to cast a veil over the incidents of gas poisoning of Syrian army soldiers on August 22, 24 and 25,” the ministry said, adding that all the respective evidence was handedto the UN by Syria.

The condition of the soldiers who, according to Damascus, suffered poisoning after discovering tanks with traces of sarin, has been examined and documented by the UN inspectors, the ministry pointed out, adding that “any objective investigation of the August 21 incident in eastern Ghouta is impossible without the consideration of all these facts.”
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday said the UN investigators are set to return to Syria to investigate several other cases of alleged chemical weapons use, including the March 19 incident in Khan al-Assal.

Russia needs convincing proof, not rumors, from UN experts that chemical weapons were used in Syria, said the Russian president in an interview with First Channel and AP. It is up to the UN Security Council to decide on the next course of action, he said - READ MORE http://on.rt.com/04i6h3

John Kerry leads Senate and Congress in lemming like charge over cliff of military strikes against Syria

By: Graham Hancock

I was nauseated and repulsed to see John Kerry's testimony of 3 September at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Syria. Kerry made a slickly disingenuous case for US bombing raids and missile strikes against Syria, endlessly reiterating (although at one point rather suspiciously fumbling) President Obama's now very familiar and oft-repeated mantra that the proposed intervention will be "proportional, limited and will not involve boots on the ground." In other words what Kerry and Obama are seeking to sell to the representatives of the US public is that they can have their cake and eat it -- they can feel morally virtuous about punishing a dictator for his alleged use of chemical weapons without actually having to get American hands dirty or risk American lives.

This is madness wrapped up in deception cushioned by cowardice and driven by evil. Once the US starts sending in its bombers and firing its missiles and killing hundreds or even thousands of innocent Syrian civilians in "unavoidable collateral damage" then American hands will be dirty and American lives will be put at risk by the inevitable backlash that will follow. Kerry, Obama and others in the pro-intervention camp are also lying to the American public by creating the illusion that their supposed "proportional and limited" intervention will actually be effective in reducing the risk of chemical weapons being used again in Syria, by any of the warring factions, in the future. The opposite is in fact the case. To add more missiles and bombs to the horrific, chaotic, crazed situation that presently prevails in Syria can only make that situation more horrific, chaotic and crazed and make it more likely that further horrors will be perpetrated, perhaps by the regime or perhaps by the smorgasbord of Al-Qaeda-linked "rebel" groups who have reportedly committed as many as 40,000 foreign jihadists to the civil war in an attempt to overthrow the Assad regime and replace it with a fundamentalist Islamic state. Watch this short (7-minute) interview with Mairead Maguire, a genuine Nobel Peace Prize winner. Unlike President Obama who won his Nobel Prize for making a few fancy speeches, Mairead won hers for years of peace activism in Northern Ireland, risking her life every day. As a young journalist I was privileged to travel around Belfast with Mairead in 1977 and witness her courage in action and she shows that courage again in speaking out in favour of peace and against US military intervention, following her recent visit to Syria and the Lebanon:

Mairead draws specific attention to another key point in all this. The forces that will be empowered by the proposed American strike on Syria are undoubtedly those very jihadist, fundamentalist, terrorist forces that America claims are its most deadly enemies. What is the hidden logic in such an action? I say hidden because I see no overt or obvious logic in it other than this lemming-like charge to "punish" Assad for using chemical weapons. The proper and legal way to proceed involves a little more care and caution. First deploy the full resources of the UN system to establish the facts unequivocally as to whether the Assad regime used chemical weapons or whether the attack was perhaps the work of others. Second, if the UN Inspectors conclude that the Assad regime did use chemical weapons then reach a decision at the Security Council as to the appropriate international response. Third implement that response with full international backing. Any military intervention by the United States ahead of the full report from the UN weapons inspectors, and ahead of a Security Council resolution is illegal in international law and can only add to the further deterioration of sane and reasonable behaviour in the world.

Finally there IS a humanitarian disaster in Syria and in its neighbours which are now playing host to MORE THAN TWO MILLION REFUGEES. If the US, France, the UK and other rich and powerful countries REALLY wish to help the people of Syria then the first thing they should be rushing to do is to help those millions of refugees with massive, generous, unstinting support. Sadly I do not see this happening. The refugees continue to suffer in inadequate camps with minimal international funding while the US focusses all efforts and attention on the rush to more war, more bombs, more missiles, more killing and more chaos.

Unlike their government, I believe that the American people want peace. I can only hope and pray that they will make their voices heard in the days ahead and insist that sanity, love and decency prevail.

Let us have a rush to peace, a rush to provide food, water, medicines and shelter to the millions who are suffering, a rush to love, a rush to understanding, and not, ABSOLUTELY NOT, a rush to war.

I write this from Turkey at the beginning of a three week trip to this suffering region which in Mairead's words is witnessing a proxy war by outside forces. I agree with her absolutely that the world must stand up against it.

The latter report, on a possible earlier use of nerve gas in Syria bears careful reading.
